What we collect

Underscored stores the clips, tags, collections, and metadata (source URL, author, title) you save. We also store your email address and username for authentication. Nothing else.

The Chrome extension and iOS share extension process only the text you actively choose to save — they don't read, scan, or store any other content from pages you visit.

How we use it

Your data is used solely to power your personal clip collection. We use Claude (Anthropic) to auto-suggest tags and collections when you save a clip — only the text of the clip and its source URL are sent. We never sell or share your data with third parties.

Public profiles

Clips default to public and appear on your public profile page (underscored.ai/[username]). You can mark any clip private from the clip detail screen — private clips are only visible to you.

Data retention

Your data is stored for as long as your account is active. You can delete individual clips at any time. To delete your account and all associated data, contact us.

Cookies

We use a single session cookie to keep you logged in. No tracking cookies, no analytics cookies.
