By 2018, the most recent year for which the modern data is harmonized with historical, that amount had nearly quintupled (to an hour and nine minutes). The pattern holds across every child-centric category of adult time-use, including infant care (up from an hour and 40 minutes to nearly four hours) and playing with kids (from 36 minutes to nearly three hours).
