Instead of requiring artists to prove plagiarism, this new law flips the burden of proof. The assumption is that AI is always trained with the work of others, so tech companies music prove they didn't plagiarize.

Authors and their entire bodies of work can be encapsulated in fragments: a few underlined sentences from their books endlessly reposted on Instagram, influencers flaunting book covers on the beach, photographs of authors appearing lost in melancholy—or best of all, smoking—making rounds on the Internet.

Mickey's exile is, of course, due to his problematic copyright status. Some aspects of Mickey are entering the public domain, and even though Disney could protect his more updated modern look, it's possible that some outsiders might earn a few coins from a Mickey Mouse resurgence. Disney would rather go mouse-less than let that happen.
