If you allow a nuclear state to win a war against a non-nuclear state and you give in to nuclear blackmail and you keep saying as the Trump people do say, "Oh no, we're afraid of escalation, etc." Then you're encouraging that scenario and encouraging middle powers around the world to build nuclear weapons to defend themselves against the Russas and the China.
