Most of us think we know what our partners want and need. But research suggests we're often wrong — and the problem is that we don't realize we're wrong. We assume that because we love someone and have spent years with them, we must understand them. But love and understanding are not the same thing.
I think that is so healthy to say, "I love you so much. I don't want to break up our family. I actually don't want anything to change, but I think I need to have sex with somebody else." What's the big deal in saying that?
I really want to give them the most amount of swoon as I can. I want people to read these quieter moments that are the louder moments in the book, but quieter moments in real life and be able to relate them back and think that was really romantic when my partner did that for me.
