The companies that matter most are the ones that can actually translate technological capability into economic value, and that translation is much harder than it looks. Most technology waves produce enormous value for society but relatively little for investors, because competition drives returns to zero faster than most people expect.
I think peak subscription refers to subscriptions that don't deliver a lot of value because it's so easy I think to sign up for an app or you know a service and then maybe even forget about it and then six months later you look at say I haven't been using this or I haven't been consuming it.
It's possible to build a product that doesn't just provide real value to people's lives but is tapped into how people feel and how people want to feel.
