I was a partner at a private equity firm and they used to invest in the education sector. And as I spent time looking at the sector, I really fell in love with the school sector and I looked more closely at the opportunity and my view was how nice would it be to have a group of the best schools around the world that maintain the ethos and values of the schools that are part of the group, but yet share global best practices.

It's a move really from the education a lot of us were familiar with, which was everyone sitting on the mat learning together, progressing as one, to actually adapting to the strengths and weaknesses of an individual student.

Historians right now are in somewhat of a culture war in that it is our patriotic duty as American citizens and as patriots to help make sure that the American public has access to our history in all of its complexity.
