I don't think a politician should be able to change their net worth a whole heck of a lot by getting into office. Like whatever your net worth is when you get into office, put in inflation, put in normal salary, and you should probably leave office with a similar.
I view Bogle as an undercover philanthropist. And at a trillion or even half a trillion dollars, that would make him the greatest philanthropist of all time.
If you're Jeff Bezos, what is what's he worth? $300 million, $300 billion, right? Even if he makes 5% a year, right? Which he's going to make way more than that. Even if he makes 5% a year, he's making $15 billion a year, right? And it's just going to grow, right? It's going to grow unbelievably quickly.

People don't resent billionaires. People want to become billionaires. People resent billionaires when they forget that the purpose of business is to create happiness, not who dies with the most toys.
The 0.1% have their own transportation. They don't give a shit about 4-hour TSA lines. They have their own police forces. They live in buildings in neighborhoods that are of incredible security. They have their own health care. So what is their vested interest?
