Ceuta is a multicultural peninsula with a large Muslim population. Many of them are of Moroccan descent. Even residents who are concerned about the sudden influx of migrants still shouted away the far-right activists.
It felt like we as a culture were finally on the same page. In fact, it felt like a return to monoculture. The idea of having a shared understanding and experience of culture with common reference points, values, and opportunities to connect. But if we're all in this together for the good, we're definitely all in this together for the bad.
When morals are put aside where ideology doesn't matter, the only thing that matters is that you support the leader, you know, so there is a breakdown in society, and and then suddenly anything goes, and I think it's a very dangerous path to take.
