I feel the word 'creator' was created by the social media companies as a way to trick people into entering an extremely inequitable economic bargain. Basically they promise, 'Hey, Mr. Beast makes a billion dollars. You could be Mr. Beast. Why don't you work for us basically for free for the rest of your life in the hopes that one day, we'll break off a little chunk of ad revenue for you?' Creator is like when Avon or Mary Kay calls you an entrepreneur.
To be your authentic self at work is um a level of like vulnerability and putting yourself forward when like you're sacrificing time with your family, with your community, mentally with yourself and these jobs expect so much from you, but you are ultimately disposable.
There's a common phrase in agriculture that's you either import your food or you import your labor. And, you know, no one wants to be reliant on other countries for our food supply, and automation is nowhere close to replacing human labor.
The idea of a working class is that you have people who are laboring but own nothing. And this comes out of the industrial revolution and the mass employment of people in things like factories. This is the this kind of idea of working class of working but not owning carries through the 19th century.

These companies are essentially ingesting the entirety of the world's written work. They are then strip mining it and selling it back to the people. And they've done this without the consent or compensation of the people whose work they're borrowing or stealing. And then they strip mine it and sell it back to the people who are about to be laid off because of what AI is doing. That's just not a great narrative.
China has demonstrated a willingness to forego money in the name of the common good. In the name of protecting workers and protecting labor. And so even if China is more structurally exposed to AI, even if that is the case, my assumption is that the Chinese government will bend the economy to its will in order to protect Chinese workers. What I know about America is that the total opposite is true.
