People tend to think that the ones who make society better are the government or someone else, and not ourselves. I want to change that mindset. It is everyone. It's every single person who can make society better and who can contribute to making society better.
You may think you don't do politics, but politics will do you. And so, choose to engage, use the power of your vote, the power of your voice, or you can step back, but that doesn't mean you may be opting out, but politics is not opting out of influencing your own life.
When we looked at sort of the employee base, they have a lot less agency in it. So they aren't necessarily deciding on the change or part of the process. They're sort of the receivers of it. And anytime we don't have agency then we start to sort of buy in less to the change.
I know that these things sound quite basic, like climbing a rooftop or hanging out with friends or staying up late. These are not like some big, crazy things. But to me, it felt like I was climbing a mountain, that this was something huge that I was doing in my life because I was making my own choices and I felt that nobody was watching me.
What he, if you read his speeches, he didn't want to tell people exactly how they should live their lives, but he wanted to help them realize that they had options that they were not even considering.
