Hollywood has really contributed to the the stigmatization of abortion and a lot of public perception that abortion is not normal when you know in fact we know it's very common or the public perception that abortion causes um medical problems when we also know that's not the case.
I went to the library and I looked everywhere and talked to the research librarians for books about families coming through cancer, and it just wasn't there. This is 1977. You didn't say the word cancer.
I think about it as it's become like the scarlet H. They've taken those conditions and treated them as if it's a moral failure. They've then pinned that on anyone with a label homeless.
