I think so many people believed that broadcasting was a bit of a relic of the past in this digital world, but it's actually proven to be the opposite. As things have gotten more fragmented, having a broadcast network is actually a superpower because we're continuing to see ratings growth.
The problem with Sunday's broadcast wasn't the fighting. The problem was the tonally incoherent emulsion of patriotism and blood lust. History and by this crap an event happening for the people but tucked behind a paramount payw wall.
It was a very emotional and very authentic broadcast because it was just myself on air, and very happy for my home country. It was something that I had been waiting for as much as all the Argentinian soccer fans for 36 years.
